“We design with intention from the perspective of the client and their family. A successfully designed home creates an overall feeling that is not defined by the individual items, but the emotions experienced while occupying the space.”

— London Walder, Principal

OUR PROCESS

INTRODUCTION & ENGAGEMENT

Our introduction and engagement phase seeks to identify your goals by assessing your project scope, requested investment and timeline while providing you with information about our firm and design process. We will then establish a statement of work, develop an estimated furnishings budget and detail out our fee structure in the form of a design contract, giving you a clear understanding of how we will execute your project scope.

PROGRAMMING

Once engaged, we will schedule a kick off meeting or site survey. During this phase we will analyze existing conditions, take photos, collect detailed measurements or review previously developed plans. From there we will guide you through planning your investment, taking into account your preferences and level of customization. If your project scope includes construction, we will engage directly with your selected architect and builder to review drawings, anticipated timelines and project roles to start the project in an efficient and organized way. If you have not selected an implementation team, we can help facilitate this process.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

To learn your preferences, our team will present a series of design materials to include floor plans, furnishing options, physical materials and inspiration images. Using these visual cues to generate conversation, we will identify your desired aesthetic and function for each space, ensuring your influence is guiding every decision and selection for your home. With a strong understanding of the project requirements, we will develop a tailored design plan to include concept board options and physical samples for your review and feedback. We will continue to refine the presentation materials until the design plan is finalized, resulting in a thorough pricing proposal. For projects including construction scope, we will develop a design book to include necessary design drawings, material schedules and implementation instructions to ensure the design intent is properly executed during the implementation phase.

IMPLEMENTATION

Our team will manage the procurement of all approved materials and furnishings. If construction is included in the scope we will work alongside the contractor to schedule project walk-through meetings as critical project milestones are met.  If problem solving opportunities arise during the construction phase, we will be available to develop thoughtful solutions to ensure desired results are realized.  Once all selected furnishings are received from our vendors, we will schedule and oversee the furnishings installation day to deliver and place all of the design elements, layer in a collection of accessories, and welcome you to your newly completed home.
